Impression of the Game
As for the battle system, action restrictions are set for each unit per turn, and attacks and movements can be made within the action limit.
Although the system is the same as the turn based battle in a typical RPG game, actions other than just attacking such as hiding behind a building to avoid the enemy’s attack is important, because not only do you have to attack, but you also have to move your unit in one turn.
Also, there is lots of unit customization elements, and it seem like you can equip a lot of accessories at once. Not only can you customize the weapons, but you can make a customization suited for the situation because the accessories you equip will change the performance of the unit. Also, the coloring of the assembled unit can be changed as well, and it’s cool how I could make my own original machine.
I felt that both the level of strategy and custom elements were made at very high levels. The developer mentioned that he liked Valkyria Chronicles and Armored Core, and the good points of these games were implemented in DUAL GEAR.
Q: Could you tell us about your future plans?
A: We have been working on this game for 3 years, and we still have to do some checks before release, so we do not have any plans for a next game at present. If this game goes well, we will probably make a next series. I also want to make a 2D platoformer.
